Entrudanças Festival
Designing Joy
Since 2011, I’ve been deeply involved in a project that holds a special place in my heart: Entrudanças Festival visual identity, organized by Pédexumbo Association. This vibrant carnival festival is not just about creating posters, it’s a celebration of community, tradition, and creativity.
Each edition is quite unique and focuses on a specific theme that reflects the culture and customs of local communities. The posters are a tangible expression of the festival essence. Through this project, we weave design with other artistic forms, creating or using pieces based on local wisdom and traditions. It goes beyond aesthetics, the posters become interactive tools, engaging with the community by holding workshops with local ladies and the users of the Day Care Center. The resulting pieces are memories, expressions, and stories that come alive during the festival. The process it’s about sharing experiences, preserving traditions, and fostering a sense of belonging.
Entrudanças is more than a Winter and Carnival Festival; it’s a celebration of world dances, traditions, music, instruments, singing, crafts, and the joy of carnival revelry.; a convergence of people, generations, and time – a shared experience that strengthens ties year after year; a living, breathing expression of joy, music, dance, and community.
